Sullivan Lake National Recreation Trail # 504 Year Round Easy

This trail is 4 miles long, with 250 feet of elevation gain, along the east shoreline of the lake. At each end of the lake are campgrounds, beaches and boat launches. The north end has an airstrip next to the campgrounds. You can launch a kayak and paddle one way, chain your boat up and walk the trail back to your car. This trail is one of the very best trails for fall colors in our region. Alternative hikes in the area are the Noisy Creek Trail # 588 and the Hall Mountain Trail # 540.
To get to the trailhead, drive north of Spokane on Hwy 31 to 3 miles south of Ione. Turn right (east) on to the Sullivan Lake Road. Drive east for 8.4 miles to the south end of the lake (Noisy Creek) or another 4 miles to the north end of the lake.

Cool things to see: Scenic Forest drive, wonderful lake, wildflowers, fall colors, the best fall color trail, two picnic-camping-swimming areas and an airport.
