Clark Fork River Delta & Johnson Creek Year Round Flat Water

This area for paddling is unique and offers many options in destinations. Once in the river, paddle out to the lake via the South Fork Johnson Creek, about two miles to the delta rock beach. Paddle around the delta to the lake side and further along the beach for a place to take out. After enjoying the delta beach, paddle on south along the east shore for as long as you like. This stretch of the lake shore is riddled with boat camps for miles.

To get to the put-in, drive to Clark Fork, Idaho. Near the middle of town, look for a USFS Johnson Creek sign to the right (south), onto Stevens Road. Cross the railroad tracks and bear left on the paved road. After crossing the bridge turn right (northwest) onto the road along side the river. After 2.5 miles bear right opposite from FR #278 to Johnson Creek boat launch.

Cool things to see: Scenic paddle, cliffs, many boat camps, skipping' rocks and water level views of the lake.
