Mineral Ridge Year Round Easy

The beauty of this hike is the views of Lake Coeur d'Alene and Wolf Lodge Bay. The trail is easy and offers a look back at our mining history as it is interpreted along the way. Once up on the ridge, there is a shelter and a drinking fountain in the summer. If you head right (east), in one mile you will come to a bench overlooking Upper Wolf Lodge Bay and Creek. Head back to the shelter and continue to the west ridge point where another bench allows you views west down Wolf Lodge Bay toward the main body of the lake and the city of Coeur d'Alene. This trail is accessible any time of the year for hiking and cross country skiing. To get to the trailhead, drive east on I-90 to the Harrison Exit, which is at the east end of Wolf Lodge Bay. Turn right (south) and continue on Hwy #97, until it turns into Beauty Bay. About 1/4 a mile from the hard left turn, you will see the parking area and trailhead. Take care about leaving valuables in your car.
Cool things to see: mining history, views of Wolf Lodge Bay & east arm of Lake Coeur d'Alene and panoramic view of the lake.
