Granite Falls, LaSota Falls, and Roosevelt Grove of Ancient Cedars Spring-Summer-Fall Easy
Granite Falls are unusual because the falls slide sideways down a chute next to a large rock cliff. When you look at an image of it you want to turn it vertical, but the trees remind you that the falls fall from top left to bottom right. Be sure to photograph the creek below the falls, and the ancient cedars around the parking area. LaSota Falls are located above Granite Falls on the walk to the Roosevelt Grove of Ancient Cedars. LaSota Falls are small and you need to position yourself along the creek bank to get a good shot of it. Continue up the trail to the cedar grove for shots of ancient trees.
To get to the Granite Falls, drive up the west side of Priest Lake 13 miles past Nordman, Idaho on S.R. 57 to the Stagger Inn Campgrounds.
Cool things to see: tallest waterfall in our area and close to Highway 95.
