Blacktail Mountain Trail # 117 Moderate & Maiden Rock Trail #321 Moderately Difficult
The cool things about these hikes are the closeness of proximity to CDA, the relative ease of the hikes, the panoramic views of Lake Pend Oreille and of course the cool, clean water. The views of Scotchman's Peak to the north, Bernard Peak to the south, and all between make this hike a must. Once at the top, notice huckleberries galore. Follow the obvious ridge to the southeast to a point where the views are unobstructed, and unbelievable. You are directly above Maiden Rock Boat Camp.
Cool things to see: incredible panoramic views of Pend Oreille Lake.
